“Dear Family,
I trust this message finds you well, victorious, and overcoming life’s challenges.
You may have seen a video circulating online that appears to show me brandishing a firearm. I want to assure you that this was not a firearm, and at no point did I point such an object at anyone. We understand the concern this has caused, and I will speak briefly on this matter during tomorrow’s 9:00 a.m. service. Thank you for your patience and understanding.
Yours sincerely,
Paul Adefarasin.”
The video, which was reportedly recorded by a social media content creator known for documenting luxury cars, captures Pastor Adefarasin inside his Range Rover. Some viewers interpreted an object he briefly held as a gun, sparking mixed reactions online. While some defended his actions as a precaution in a tense environment, others criticized it as inappropriate, especially coming from a church leader.
