Fred Talbot, a former TV weatherman, was recently seen shopping at Waitrose after being released from prison. He was convicted in 2015 for indecently assaulting two schoolboys and was jailed for five years.
Talbot, wearing a light blue jumper and jeans, was spotted leaving the store alone with groceries. His crimes included setting inappropriate homework for students and abusing them during school trips.
In 2016, he received an additional four-year sentence for abusing seven more boys during camping trips. One victim, who was 14 at the time, expressed anger at Talbot’s release, feeling sickened by the leniency of his sentence.
The assaults occurred between 1978 and 1981 during school excursions, where Talbot used his authority to target vulnerable students. Some attacks happened at night or after victims had been given alcohol.
In 2017, Talbot admitted sexually assaulting a 19-year-old man at a party in 1980. Despite the severity of his crimes, Talbot was seen enjoying his freedom, sparking outrage among his victims and the public alike.
