Obi, known for his consistent support for social development initiatives across Nigeria, gave ₦10 million to the nursing college and ₦5 million to the Quranic school.

Addressing students and staff at the Malikiya College of Nursing Sciences, the former Anambra State governor highlighted the critical role nurses play in Nigeria’s healthcare system.

“You are very important to the society, you are very important to this country called Nigeria. If there is anything we can do to support what you are doing, we need to do it. The number one measure of success of any nation is health, and you can’t measure health without thinking of the human infrastructure. The nurse is important. The nurse knows the patient, owns the patient, the nurse is everything.”

The proprietors of the two schools, Aminu Danmaliki and Alhaji Usman Abubakar, expressed their appreciation for Obi’s generosity, assuring him that the funds would be used to enhance the quality of education and facilities in their institutions.
