The presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress, NDC, Peter Obi, has broken his silence over his wife’s alleged N250m Hermès bag
Speaking during an interview in Washington, DC, USA, Obi said his wife, Margaret, has her own business and her own MONEY.
The former Anambra State governor also said his wife used to be far more sophisticated than she is now.
Obi added that he has no issue with what his wife does with her money, provided she is living her life without interfering with his management of public funds.
He also explained he never had an office of the First Lady as governor, stressing that he does not celebrate his own birthday but does not stop people from celebrating.
“My wife has her own business and her own money, so what is my business if she buys expensive items with her money?
“The bags and shoes my wife wears, I don’t even know how much they cost. In fact, she is actually a bit less sophisticated now,” Obi said.
