Darkoo alleged that Mr. P caused the temporary removal of her video for “Focus on Me” from YouTube, claiming it was unavailable for six days.

Responding through his management, One Management, Mr. P explained that the issue stemmed from Darkoo’s failure to follow proper clearance procedures for using a sample of P-Square’s hit song “Gimme Dat.”

He emphasized that he had guided Darkoo on the correct process and shared similar challenges he had faced in the past.

The statement further disclosed that despite repeated efforts to reach Darkoo’s team, no confirmation of clearance was received. Consequently, the video was taken down due to the absence of proper authorization.

The matter was resolved when Darkoo and her team signed the necessary agreements, leading to the video’s reinstatement on YouTube.

Mr. P’s team denied any malicious intent, labeling Darkoo’s allegations as a calculated attempt to damage his image. They also pointed out that her public complaints only surfaced after the video had been restored, suggesting it might have been a strategy to generate publicity.

The statement added:

“Darkoo sought Mr. P’s guidance to clear her song, which sampled ‘Gimme Dat.’ As a supporter of upcoming artists, he provided advice and explained the proper clearance process. However, the video was released without following due procedures.”

It continued:

“ONE Management reached out to Darkoo and her team for clarification but received no response. After allowing 72 hours for rectification, the video was temporarily removed to address clearance issues. Once the proper agreements were finalized with all relevant parties, the video was reinstated at Mr. P’s insistence.”
