Photo: Woman Charged For Murder Of Nairobi Dentist

    A middle aged woman was on Tuesday charged with robbery with
    violence and killing a Nairobi dentist who went missing three weeks ago. Caroline
    Sinzora Kahera, an employee of Kenya Power Company appeared before a Kibera
    court and denied robbing Dr Erick Ariba Olembo of a car and personal document
    and killing him.
    According to the charge sheet, Sinzora allegedly committed
    the offence with other people who were not in court in Langata, Nairobi on June
    1 while armed with firearms.
    A second count stated that on June 16, she was found in
    possession of Doctor Ariba’s car in Ruai, Nairobi, having stolen or knowing
    that it was stolen property a charge she also denied.

    The car, according to the prosecution, was valued at Sh1.5
    million and was recovered in Ruai area, while the body of the doctor was found
    at the City mortuary 16 days after he went missing.
    According to court documents the body had bullet wounds.
    The court heard that the accused had been in police custody
    for 20 days before she was produced in court on Tuesday.
    While applying for bond before Chief Magistrate Ann Ong’ijo,
    the accused said she is a Kenyan in gainful employment being an employee of
    Kenya Power.
    “I was also arrested few days after a cesarean delivery,”
    she said.
    The prosecution did not object to the application but urged the
    court not to grant her cash bail noting that the charges against her are
    serious.

    She was released on Sh500,000 bail until July 25 when the
    case will be mentioned.
