BBNaija winner Phyna has blasted trolls mocking her over the fact that she now works at a restaurant as a waitress
The reality star said there is absolutely nothing wrong with doing honest work, stressing that life is no longer the same despite winning N100 million and getting several endorsement deals after leaving the BBNaija house.
Phyna explained that if she had been livestreaming or creating content in the restaurant, many people would have praised her, but because she was allegedly spotted genuinely working there, people quickly began insulting her and claiming she was broke.
“What is wrong if I am actually working as a sales girl, as a waiter? Tell me what is wrong in it? Why the bashing?”, Phyna said.
She also revealed that influencing jobs and brand deals are no longer coming as before, adding that even regular 9-5 jobs may not be enough considering the pressure that comes with being a public figure in Nigeria.
The reality star further called out Nigerians for mocking jobs like waitressing at home while celebrating people who travel abroad to do similar jobs as cleaners, nannies and waiters.
“What would you have me do when brands no longer want people to influence for them? Maybe I cannot secure a nine-to-five job or even if I can secure a nine-to-five job, the pay is not it.”, she said.
“So is it okay to work as a waiter and cleaner overseas but it’s bad to do that here in Nigeria?”
