There female teenagers have been arrested at Ijanikin in
Lagos State for stealing a gold necklace worth thousands of naira and also an
unspecified amount of cash from a trader’s shop. According to the police, the
teens have specialised in such pilfering. What they do is go to a shop ask for
a product the shop owner would not have and when she says they should give her
few minutes to go to another shop to get it for them, they would have stolen
what they planned to and fled.

The girls have been arraigned before an Apapa Magistrates’
court in Lagos, where they were asked to be taken to Idi-Araba remand home.
Further investigation revealed that they all live with their parents.
