The Bauchi State Police Command has arrested a 48-year-old man, Bala Mato, for allegedly s3xually assaulting a 15-year-old boy in Burra, Ningi Local Government Area
The incident was reported on February 25, 2026, by Danalami Umar, a resident of Bakin Kasuwa, Burra.
Police said the victim was allegedly lured into a room by the suspect on February 17 at about 8 pm, where the offence occurred.
In a statement posted on the command’s Facebook page on Sunday, the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Nafiu Habib, said the suspect had been arrested and the victim taken to the General Hospital, Burra, for medical examination.
Habib said, “On case of unnatural offence (sodomy). On February 25, 2026, one Danalami Umar, 45, of Bakin Kasuwa, Burra, reported at the Divisional Police Headquarters, Burra, that on February 17 at about 2000hrs, a 15-year-old teenager was deceitfully lured by Bala Mato, 48, who allegedly committed an unnatural offence against him in a room.
“The suspect was arrested, and the victim taken to General Hospital Burra for medical examination.”
