Police hold drill ahead of Buhari’s Yola visit

The police command in Yola, says it has mounted surveillance to uphold existing public order and ensure that the expected visit of President Muhammadu Buhari, to Yola, on Friday, is hitch-free.

A statement released by the Police Public Relations Officer, Adamawa State Command, DSP Suleiman Nguroje, after an early morning drill on Thursday ahead of the president’s scheduled visit, revealed high level security measures to assure safety and order.

“The CP, Aliyu Alhaji in an effort to sustain the existing public order and public safety in the state, has ordered the deployment of additional operational assets including Police Surveillance and Operational teams, Police Mobile Force, Counter Terrorism Unit.

“Crowd/Traffic Control Units, the teams, are expected to carry out convert surveillance as well as confidence-building patrols within the state in conjunction with sister security agents,” the statement reads.

The CP who also called on the citizens to cooperate with security agents while discharging their duties, promised as head of internal security operations in the state, assured the synergy of other security agencies and other patriotic stakeholders- towards ensuring public order in the State before, during and after the visit of Mr President.
