Street-pop singer Portable has released a diss track aimed at Nollywood actress Laide Bakare, escalating their public spat
The new song, which quickly went viral, features Portable mocking Laide using her own words—particularly her now-famous threat to “dabarabomi” (a Yoruba phrase meaning “slap me quickly”). He cleverly weaves her phrases into the chorus, taunting her throughout the track.
This comes after Portable accused Laide of inviting him to perform at her event without proper payment arrangements. According to him, she later insulted him, allegedly calling him a “dirty boy from Sango.” Laide responded in a video, warning the singer to stop dragging her name and accusing him of clout-chasing.
Not one to back down, Portable clapped back musically, using his diss track to turn Laide’s jabs into catchy lyrics. The track has since stirred reactions online, with fans debating who’s in the right.
Laide Bakare, for her part, has continued to fire back in voice notes shared on social media and has hinted at possibly taking legal steps.
With both sides refusing to back down, the drama between Portable and Laide Bakare shows no signs of slowing down.
