The Presidency has issued an apology over inaccuracies in a list of appointments made by President Bola Tinubu since he assumed office

According to Daily Trust, the list was initially published to counter claims that Tinubu’s appointments were lopsided and violated the federal character principle.
Senator Ali Ndume, representing Borno South under the APC, had recently criticized the President in an interview with Arise Television, accusing him of marginalizing certain regions in his appointments. He said, “As a lawmaker, I have the right to call out the President, even if we’re in the same party.”
In response, Sunday Dare, the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Public Communication, released a breakdown of appointments by geopolitical zone in a bid to dismiss the claims.
However, the exclusion of prominent figures such as Chief of Staff Femi Gbajabiamila sparked backlash on social media.
Reacting to the criticism, Dare took to his X handle on Thursday to acknowledge the errors and offer an apology: “We have noticed a number of errors in the list of appointments tweeted. We are sorry. We will provide an updated list later. Thank you.”
He did not clarify why Gbajabiamila’s name was left out.
