President Bola Tinubu is currently engaged in a bilateral meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping in Beijing, China, as part of the China-Africa Collaboration Summit
The summit aims to attract increased foreign direct investment to Nigeria. Notable attendees include high-ranking Chinese government officials, members of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum led by Chairman Abdulrazak Abdulrahman, and key members of President Tinubu’s economic team and cabinet.
The meeting will witness the signing of several Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs) between the two nations, focusing on cooperation in various sectors such as green economy, agriculture, satellite technology, media enterprise development, blue economic development, and national planning.
Additionally, the leaders will engage in discussions on matters of mutual interest, including national, regional, and international security.
This meeting takes place amidst recent reports of a Chinese company seizing Nigerian government-owned aircraft, adding a layer of complexity to the diplomatic engagement.
