President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has been awarded the prestigious title of Knight Commander of the Order of Saint Lucia (KCOSL) during a visit to the Caribbean nation on Monday, June 30

The honour was announced in a statement from the Office of the Prime Minister of Saint Lucia, Philip Pierre, which confirmed that the title was officially conferred by the country’s Governor General.
“The Government of Saint Lucia is pleased to announce that the Governor General has conferred the title of Knight Commander of the Order of Saint Lucia (KCOSL) upon H. E. Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria,” the statement read.

In a separate post on X, the Prime Minister’s office expressed pride in Tinubu’s visit, describing it as a moment filled with “pride and promise.” It added that both nations are working to strengthen ties across Africa and the Caribbean.
“A sense of pride and promise filled the room following President Tinubu’s exciting announcements and the government’s deliberate efforts to forge new bonds with Nigeria and other African nations,” it stated.
