Prince Harry and Meghan Markle chose to remain in California this year rather than attend the annual Festival of Remembrance.
Instead, the couple recorded a video message, appearing in dark blazers adorned with poppy pins, where they discussed the importance of protecting “the most vulnerable in our world” from digital violence and harm.
The video, filmed in California where they live with their children Archie and Lilibet, reflected the Sussexes’ ongoing distance from royal events in the UK.
This decision followed their seating placement in 2018 and 2019, when they were seated at the back of the royal box, far from the front row where the late Queen, Prince Charles, and the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge sat.
