Prince Harry plans to visit the UK for the Invictus Games’ 10th anniversary and hopes to reconnect with his father, King Charles, who’s recovering from cancer. While there’s optimism for a warmer relationship, returning to royal duties isn’t expected.
The Invictus Games event on May 8 in London could see Prince Harry giving a speech, but any talk of him resuming royal duties is unlikely. Despite efforts to mend ties between King Charles and Harry, there’s a clear boundary regarding Harry’s royal role.
Royal expert Richard Palmer suggests that while there’s hope for reconciliation, King Charles is not open to the idea of Prince Harry being a part-time royal. This stance traces back to earlier discussions, where it was made clear that royals are either fully committed or not at all.
Palmer also believes Prince Harry faces a significant challenge in repairing his relationship with his brother, Prince William. Rebuilding trust and bridges might take time and ongoing effort.
