Prince William has become an unexpected TikTok star after a university student recorded him apologising for making her late to class.
The 42-year-old royal visited Ulster University’s Belfast City Campus Centre, meeting students preparing to enter the creative sector.
During the visit, he encountered Samantha Johnson, a student who playfully asked him to explain on camera why she would be late for her lecture.
In the TikTok video, Samantha urged, “Yeah, just tell her why we’re late! Just say sorry,” to which Prince William responded with a smile: “To Lesley? Are you recording?”
After Samantha confirmed she was, he said: “Lesley, I’m very sorry we’re late, but they seem to be caught up and they wouldn’t believe that you were here, so just say hi.”
Samantha later thanked the Prince for helping her prove to her lecturer that she had met the future King.
She also shared in another video that she “missed half her lecture” because of delays caused by his security team.
The light-hearted exchange has resonated with social media users, quickly making the clip a viral sensation.
