The Prince and Princess of Wales made their first high-profile appearance in months at the Festival of Remembrance at the Royal Albert Hall on Saturday night.
As they arrived, Prince William comfortingly placed his arm around Kate, who had been diagnosed with an undisclosed form of cancer.
Prince William has previously called this year the “hardest” of his life but expressed pride in both his father and wife for their strength and dignity through their health challenges.
Footage from the event showed the couple smiling and shaking hands with officials, with Kate gently rubbing William’s lower back.
Before entering the event, Prince William lovingly placed his hand on Kate’s upper waist and back as they were guided into the venue.
Kate looked radiant in a black dress as she attended the event to honor Britain’s servicemen and women.
This year, Kate wore a single poppy, a change from her usual three, which she typically wears during Remembrance weekend events.
