The Ogun State Police Command has initiated an investigation into the d8ath of 21-year-old Tosin Lawal, a pregnant woman, in the Ilaro area of the state
Punch Metro gathered on Tuesday that Lawal was nine months pregnant when the incident occurred on Monday.
The spokesperson for the command, Omolola Odutola, stated that the 21-year-old woman suddenly experienced an unusual sensation in her heart, identified as heart palpitations, despite having no prior illness.
According to a police situation report from the Ilaro Division, the husband, Akeem, rushed her to the Ore-Ofe Specialist Hospital on the morning of Monday, March 10, 2025, after she complained of a rapidly beating heart.
Upon arriving at the hospital around 3:30 p.m., Lawal was reportedly declared de.ad on arrival by the attending doctor.
“The husband said Lawal told him that her heart was beating faster. The doctor declared her de.ad on arrival after she was rushed to the hospital.
“The police have advised Akeem to take his wife’s remains to the State Hospital morgue for preservation and autopsy. Coroner forms have been submitted for further investigation into the cause of de.ath.”
