Production manager Anierobi Courage, popularly known as Nwa South, has been arrested following an alleged assault on a crew member during the filming of Lagos to Opulence
The confrontation reportedly took place on Tuesday between Courage and Mary Chizzy Eze, the head of makeup. A video circulating online showed the two in a physical struggle, with Courage striking Mary and holding her by the neck until others intervened.

The Nigeria Film Crew Community said the incident erupted after Mary raised concerns about the poor living conditions for the crew, claiming that 15 female members were being accommodated in a single room.
In a statement, the community said: “On October 28, 2025, on the set of Caddilly Production’s Lagos to Opulence, production manager Anierobi Courage a.k.a. Nwa South physically assaulted the head of makeup, Mary Chizzy Eze. He violently hit and strangled her for speaking up against mistreatment, as evidenced in video footage. Courage has been arrested, and Mary is receiving medical care.”
The community condemned Courage’s actions as “violent and animalistic” and called for a six-month ban on him within the industry while police investigations continue. They also criticized the inadequate accommodation conditions and urged producers and guilds to improve welfare for crew members.
Reports confirm that Courage, who has previously worked as a casting director on several Nollywood projects, remains in police custody, while Mary is recovering from her injuries.
