The Governing Council of the University of Abuja, chaired by Air Vice-Marshal Saddiq Ismaila Kaita (Rtd), has appointed Professor Aisha Sani Maikudi as the 7th substantive Vice-Chancellor of the university
The announcement was made during the 77th Extraordinary Council Meeting on Tuesday.
According to a statement by the Acting Director of Information and University Relations, Dr. Habib Yakoob, the appointment takes effect on January 1, 2025, and is for a single, non-renewable five-year tenure.
Dr. Yakoob stated that Maikudi was selected as the top candidate among 10 shortlisted individuals who were interviewed by the Joint Council and Senate Selection Board, following established regulations.
