Pastor Enoch Adeboye, General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), has urged Nigerians, especially the youth, to move beyond leadership criticisms and instead focus on developing the skills needed to drive real change
In his devotional message titled “From Critic to Activist” from the Open Heavens Daily Devotional, he emphasized that while criticism can be constructive, lasting impact and recognition come through purposeful action and solution-oriented engagement.

“Don’t just criticise things or people; become a part of the solution you desire to see,” he said. “Statues are never built in honour of critics. Carrying placards and protesting may attract attention, but beyond that, you must grow to where you can recommend and even provide the solutions you demand.”
Drawing on Scripture, Pastor Adeboye highlighted the need to balance spiritual zeal with wisdom. He recalled how the prophet Elijah boldly confronted King Ahab but later became an instrument of divine provision, bringing hope and sustenance to a destitute widow.
He also referenced Moses, whose early attempt to fulfill his calling led to a 40-year detour in the wilderness, illustrating the need to align passion with purpose.
“Beloved, be wise. God has ordained a glorious destiny for you, but unchecked zeal can delay its realization. Don’t settle for making noise, build capacity. Let your enthusiasm be guided by knowledge and strategic action, so you become a true agent of change,” Adeboye advised.
With over fifty years in ministry, he encouraged young people to channel their energy intentionally, combining spiritual insight with practical wisdom to effect meaningful and lasting transformation.
