The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) launched a nationwide protest over rising insecurity on December 17, 2025, with confirmed actions in Abuja, Lagos, and Enugu
Members, led by NLC President Joe Ajaero, gathered at key locations, including the NLC secretariat in Abuja, ahead of the rally.

The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) went ahead with its planned protest over insecurity in parts of the country, despite a late-night meeting between President Bola Tinubu and the union’s leaders aimed at averting the action.
In anticipation of the protests, police deployed tactical units and placed commands on high alert in major cities such as Lagos and Abuja. The demonstrations disrupted activities in Enugu, reflecting the scale of the nationwide mobilization.

While the protests were planned across the country, there are no verified reports confirming that the demonstrations took place in Taraba State. Lagos, Abuja, and Enugu remain the only locations confirmed by reliable sources so far.
The NLC protests aimed to draw attention to the worsening insecurity in Nigeria and demand urgent government action.
