Police operatives in Plateau have arrested one Suleiman Yakubu for allegedly producing a TikTok video allegedly demonstrating how to unleash violence on security operatives and properties in the state during the nationwide protest scheduled to begin across Nigeria on 1 August

Yakubu allegedly posted the video on the social media through his Tik Tok account, identified as “Dam-Mallam68”, DSP Alfred Alabo, the spokesperson of the Plateau Police Command said in a statement.

“The suspect in the video was seen assertively inciting the public to attack security operatives and burn down critical State and private infrastructures in Plateau State as part of the activities for the protest,” Alabo added.

He added that the 34 years old indigene of Jos North, Plateau State who appeared in the viral video was arrested at Ahmadu Bello Jos through an impeccable informant on 28, July.

While in our custody, the suspect confessed to being the one in the video. Meanwhile, investigation is still ongoing.

In view of the above, the Commissioner of Police wishes to state that the Police will intensely resist any attempt by mischief makers to plunge the State in to chaos. He stressed the need for peace to remain untempered in the State amidst the before, during and after the protest.
