Akure, the Ondo State capital, has witnessed a wave of protests as residents voice concerns over rising insecurity and violent attacks
On March 27, 2025, students took to the streets to protest the growing cases of kidnapping, demanding urgent government intervention.
The demonstrators expressed fear over the increasing criminal activities in the state and called on security agencies to take immediate action.
Meanwhile, another protest erupted last week when farmers stormed the Governor’s Office in Alagbaka, carrying the bodies of five individuals allegedly k!lled by armed herdsmen in Aba Oyinbo, Akure North Local Government Area. The farmers condemned the attacks and urged the government to put an end to the violence.
These protests reflect mounting frustrations among Akure residents, as they demand stronger measures to curb insecurity and protect lives.
