Paris Saint-Germain claimed their second consecutive UEFA Women’s Champions League title after edging Arsenal 4-3 in a penalty shootout following a thrilling final in Budapest.
The showdown at Puskás Aréna finished 1-1 after both regulation time and extra time, with neither side able to find a decisive winner during open play.
With the match deadlocked, the trophy was decided from the penalty spot. PSG converted four of their penalties, while Arsenal managed three.
The decisive moment came when Arsenal defender Gabriel Magalhães sent his spot-kick over the crossbar, allowing the French side to seal victory and retain their European crown.
The defeat was a painful setback for Arsenal, who were hoping to add a first-ever Champions League title to their recent Premier League success after ending a 22-year wait for the domestic crown.
