Qdot offers public apology over Islam remarks

Nigerian street-pop singer Qdot has publicly apologised to Muslims following backlash over comments that many people considered disrespectful to Islam.

The Yoruba-born artiste, popularly known as Qdot, shared a heartfelt message on social media expressing regret for his statement. Addressing Muslims who practice their faith with sincerity, integrity, and kindness, he stated that he never intended to insult or disrespect Islam.

In his apology, Qdot wrote:

“I want to offer my heartfelt apology to all Muslims, especially those who live their faith with goodness, integrity, and kindness. If at any time I spoke words that cursed, insulted, or disrespected your religion or your beliefs, I am truly sorry.”

He further acknowledged the importance of faith in people’s lives and expressed deep regret over his comments.

“I ask for your forgiveness and promise to be more careful, respectful, and mindful in how I speak about all religions from now on. May we live in peace and understanding together,” he added.

The apology follows earlier remarks in which Qdot questioned whether Islam is truly a religion of peace.

He had criticised extremists who commit acts of k!dnapping and te.rrorism while invoking “Allahu Akbar” and expressed frustration over the k!lling of innocent people, including children, in the name of religion.
