Rapper Vector Tha Viper has recently voiced his concerns about Nigerian celebrities’ involvement in politics, urging them to reconsider their support for certain politicians.

With more celebrities publicly aligning with political figures, Vector expressed disappointment with those who appear disconnected from the struggles of their fans and fellow citizens.

He warned that if the current hardship and poor governance persist, even celebrities could eventually suffer. On his social media, Vector advised celebrities to rethink their political affiliations and focus on the well-being of the people they represent.

On his X handle, Vector wrote: “To the celebrities taking sides against the reality of their own people/fans, it may be best to repent before you become the only reachable option if the hardship doesn’t stop. Stop supporting bad governance.”

His message comes amid nationwide protests against the difficult conditions faced by many Nigerians.

Popular Skitmaker Nasboi had previously explained why he won’t be joining the protests, citing his 2023 election experience. Nasboi revealed he received threats for supporting Peter Obi during the 2023 presidential election, and when he posted the threatening messages online, people laughed at him. He tweeted that many celebrities don’t earn money from politics as some fans believe, but fear becoming scapegoats.

Nasboi wrote: “Me, protest? Lol. The last time I spoke up, dem use threaten wan finish my life. I come tweeter come post the dm’s of threats, Na laugh people dey laugh for here. A lot of celebrities don’t get money off politics like you insinuate. Buh na just fear of being a scape goat.”
