The governor specifically cautioned the traditional rulers of Ifon, Erin-Osun, and Ilobu communities, urging them to sustain the ongoing peace efforts and prevent any further escalation of communal clashes.

Adeleke’s warning was contained in a statement released on Monday in Osogbo by his spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed. The directive follows reports of anonymous groups allegedly planning fresh attacks in the conflict-prone areas.

“In the midst of Sallah celebrations, I received reports of individuals plotting another round of violence in Ifon, Ilobu, and Erin-Osun. Security agencies have heightened surveillance to prevent any outbreak of conflict,” the statement read.

He further stressed that authorities are intensifying interrogations of key figures involved in the crisis, adding that the peace agreements signed by community leaders must be taken seriously. “They will be held accountable. There will be consequences before the law,” he stated.

Adeleke also cautioned against misusing the relaxed curfew, which was eased on humanitarian grounds to accommodate Eid-el-Fitr festivities. He warned that any attempt to exploit the leniency for renewed violence would result in the full reinstatement of the 24-hour curfew.

“Additionally, I will remove from office any traditional ruler where violence recurs. This is not an empty threat. Royal fathers must call their subjects to order. Enough is enough,” Adeleke declared.

The Osun State Government had earlier imposed an indefinite 24-hour curfew on the three warring communities in March 2025, following deadly clashes that claimed lives and caused extensive property damage.
