Remo Stars have secured the 2024/2025 Nigeria Premier Football League title with three games to spare after a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Niger Tornadoes in a match-day 35 clash in Ikenne on Sunday
A second-half substitute, Olamilekan Adedayo, delivered a spectacular late strike to give coach Daniel Ogunmodede’s team the win after 83 minutes of intense play.
The victory, Remo’s 21st of the season, pushed them to 68 points, establishing a commanding 10-point lead over second-place Rivers United with three games still to play.
In doing so, Remo Stars became the first Southwest club to win the Nigerian topflight title since Julius Berger’s victory in 1991.
