Nollywood actress Rita Dominic and the organizers of the Miss Nigeria pageant have issued an apology to legendary actress Omotola Jalade Ekeinde for the discomfort she experienced during the Miss Nigeria Patron and Board dinner.
During a short interview at the event, Omotola was asked about her name and identity. Caught off guard, she appeared frustrated and walked away from the interviewer, asking not to be touched.
In her statement, Rita Dominic expressed regret for the situation, while the Miss Nigeria organizers described Omotola as a respected member of the community and a close friend of the organization.
They praised her decades of work supporting young creatives and emphasized that all guests deserve respect and consideration.
The board urged the public and media to understand the full context of such interactions before forming judgments, affirming their admiration and support for Omotola as an icon in Nigeria’s entertainment industry.
