Ibok-Eke Ibas, the Sole Administrator of Rivers State, has made a surprising appearance at the National Economic Council (NEC) meeting currently being presided over by Vice President Kashim Shettima at the Presidential Villa, Abuja
Ibas, whose attendance at the meeting has raised eyebrows, is one of the key figures in the session, which also includes a number of state governors and deputy governors.
Among the other notable attendees are Governor Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta State, who recently switched from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC), and governors Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia (Benue), Abdulrahman Abdulrazak (Kwara), Monday Okpebholo (Edo), and Bassey Otu (Cross River).
The NEC meeting, typically chaired by the Vice President, addresses critical issues aimed at enhancing Nigeria’s economic development. Ibas’ unexpected participation has sparked interest, particularly as he represents Rivers State in a non-governor capacity.
