This will come to reality beginning from March 1 for six months.

It has been approved by PM Mishustin.

This aims to stabilize prices amid rising demand and allow refinery maintenance.

The ban, backed by Deputy PM Novak, addresses domestic price concerns before the March 15-17 presidential election.

Russian refineries faced Ukrainian drone attacks, part of ongoing conflicts disrupting energy infrastructure.

The ban however excludes Eurasian Economic Union members, Mongolia, Uzbekistan, and Russian-backed breakaway regions.
The move underscores Russia’s commitment to stabilize domestic markets, navigate geopolitical tensions, and influence global energy dynamics.
