Ruud van Nistelrooy has shared a heartfelt message following his exclusion from Ruben Amorim’s Manchester United coaching team, which has forced him to leave Old Trafford.
The former United striker briefly served as interim coach after Erik ten Hag’s dismissal last month, leading the team to a successful run with three wins and a draw.
His tenure ended on a high note with a commanding 3-0 victory over Leicester on Sunday.
Despite expressing his desire to remain at the club, Van Nistelrooy was left uncertain about his future.
With Amorim now taking charge, the new head coach has chosen to work with his own staff as he prepares for his first match against Ipswich on November 24, leaving no place for Van Nistelrooy in the setup.
Breaking his silence, Van Nistelrooy posted an emotional statement on X, reflecting on his time with the club:
“To everyone at Manchester United Football Club, in particular the backroom staff, the players, and the fans. I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for your incredible efforts and support.”
The Dutchman added that he will “cherish the memories” of his short but impactful stint at the club.
