Content creator, Folorunsho Olayinka, better known as Finest, has revealed that late comedian, Sanku, was still owing N13 million on his newly acquired 2012 Lexus RX 350 SUV, which was involved in the accident that took his life
Sanku tragically passed away on September 2, 2025, after his car veered off Ogbomoso Road in Oyo State and plunged into a river.
Sanku was owing N13m for Lexus before d3ath – GuarantorSpeaking during a TikTok livestream, Finest, who served as Sanku’s guarantor for the purchase, disclosed that the comedian bought the SUV for N25.4 million but had paid only N7 million upfront at JJ Motors Empire and Services Limited when the deal was finalized on June 5, 2025. He explained that Sanku continued to make instalment payments until he had settled N12.28 million before his d3ath.
“I was only a guarantor, because the dealer trusted me. I didn’t force him to come to Ilorin. He asked me for a driver and I provided one. After the initial N7 million payment, he kept paying bit by bit.
“So what would be my benefit in harming someone who still owed about N13 million that I stood in for? I don’t even know the driver. The only reason I am speaking is because some people are pointing fingers at me. I even have his voice notes thanking me for standing by him,” Finest said.
He added that he sent money for Sanku’s medical treatment after hearing complaints that the late comedian was not attended to immediately when taken to the hospital.
A close friend of Sanku, however, claimed the comedian had been under pressure to return the Lexus and switch to a Nigerian-used Toyota Venza because he struggled to meet the remaining balance of about N2.3 million.
