Sanwo-Olu Opens 110-Bed Maternal, Child Centre In Epe

    Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu yesterday commissioned a 110-bed fully equipped Maternal Child Centre (MCC) for safe childbirth and the reduction of maternal and infant mortality in the state.

    Apart from emergency services, the four-storey MCC is a secondary public health facility that will provide all services related to reproductive issues including obstetrics; gynaecology; paediatrics; family planning, immunization, laboratory services and radiology.

    Speaking during the unveiling, Mr Sanwo-Olu said the four-floor, 110 bed-Maternal Child Centre was another essential facility for safe childbirth and the reduction of maternal and infant mortality.

    He said the full-equipped MCC in Epe was a clear demonstration of his administration’s seriousness about the war against maternal and child mortality.

    According to him, in the last two years, government has shown great commitment to the improvement of maternal and child health indices in the state.
