Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has called on young men and women across the state to seize the opportunity presented by the ongoing Nigerian Army recruitment, emphasizing the broad career prospects in today’s military service

In a statement issued Tuesday by Olumuyiwa Ojelabi from the Office of the Secretary to the State Government, Sanwo-Olu announced that registration for the 89 Regular Recruits Intake for Trades and Non-Tradesmen/Women will end on Saturday, May 17, 2025.

Speaking through the Secretary to the State Government, ‘Bimbola Salu-Hundeyin, at a stakeholder engagement in the palace of the Olofin of Isheri Olofin, the governor encouraged a shift in public perception about military careers.

“Today’s Army is more than combat—it offers opportunities in technology, education, and personal growth,” Salu-Hundeyin said.

The event gathered parents, youths, traditional rulers, religious leaders, and artisans to highlight the benefits of military service, including professional training in fields such as law, medicine, and aeronautics.

Sanwo-Olu reiterated the state’s support for qualified applicants from Lagos.

In response, the Olofin of Isheri Olofin, Oba Olasunkanmi Lawal-Bello, applauded the initiative and pledged to mobilize youths in his community.

“I commend Governor Sanwo-Olu for his dedication to youth development and the THEMES+ Agenda, particularly in education and healthcare,” the monarch stated.
