Sarah Martins expresses frustration after discovering that a dispatch rider, Opeyemi, who showed romantic interest in her, had lied about being single.
The actress stated that before agreeing to a lunch date, she had directly asked him about his relationship status.
According to her, he responded that he was “SINGLE AND NEVER BEEN MARRIED.”
Sarah, however, said she later received information from his neighbours and his employer indicating that he is married with a daughter.
She further alleged that his wife serves as his guarantor at his place of employment.
“Never trust the loyalty of a poor man. News reaching me is that OPEYEMI, the DISPATCH RIDER, is a MARRIED MAN,” she said.
“Before I took him out on a lunch date, I clearly asked his marital status, and he said SINGLE AND NEVER BEEN MARRIED.”
She added, “Only for his neighbours and the company where he works, to shock me with the news that he’s a married man with a daughter, who, in fact, he used his wife as a guarantor at his workplace.”
Sarah noted that her main concern was not solely the alleged falsehood but what she described as the public denial of his family.
“My disappointment is not the fact that he lied to me; my main anger is the audacity to deny his wife and child and publicly humiliate them by professing love to me!” she stated.
She further remarked, “These are one of the major reasons I will NEVER date low! The loyalty of a man is tested only when he touches money!”
Despite the development, the actress said she intends to proceed with gifting him a motorcycle, explaining that her decision is motivated by concern for his wife and child.
“The main reason I’m still going ahead to bless him with the bike is because of his wife and child. At least he will have a better means of livelihood to cater for them,” she said.
Addressing those who criticised her earlier decision to reject him, Martins concluded;
“For all the people who bullied me for rejecting him, see Una lives outside! At the end of the day, humanity still won!”.
Martins maintained that her position remains unchanged, stating that while she was disappointed by the development, her decision to proceed with gifting him a motorcycle is solely in consideration of his wife and child.
