Nigerian actress and entrepreneur Sarah Martins has taken to her page to express frustration over what she describes as constant harassment and entitlement from online users who frequently demand financial assistance from her.
In a strongly worded post, she criticized those who undermine her efforts in content creation and business marketing, saying many people fail to appreciate the work behind her brand promotions.
“Some of you even bully me for making content to make sales for my brands as if you know what it takes to create content that converts. Pls stop already!” she wrote.
She also questioned the expectations placed on her by some individuals who assume she has the capacity to meet their financial needs. “Shebi make I hustle finish, then pack the money, give u, make u pay your 4.5m rent, as I no get my own bills to pay, abi???” she added.
Martins further revealed that her direct messages are often flooded with requests for money, saying it has become overwhelming and emotionally draining. “I’m even scared to open my dm because it’s filled with bills… ogini????” she stated.
Speaking about her philanthropic efforts, she explained that she uses her personal income to support vulnerable children through food donations, stressing that it is not widely appreciated.
“I can’t even remember the last time someone donated money to my NGO account, yet I cook weekly for homeless kids, and you all still do not encourage me enough because you think it’s easy to feed 150 people weekly,” she said.
She emphasized that her charity work is voluntary and not something she has ever claimed to do as a saviour. “There was never a time I told anyone I’m a messiah that offsets bills,” she noted.
Concluding her message, she urged the public to stop the constant demands and criticism, while also pointing out the lack of support for her promotional work.
“Make Una leave me oooooo. Patronise me mba, engage on my advert posts mba, share my advert posts mba, repost mba, but when e reach to write essay on how u haven’t eaten in years u run enter my dm… Wickeeeedd souls!!!!” she wrote.
