Saudi Arabia locks down Medina to curb coronavirus

    Saudi Arabia has imposed a partial lockdown on the city of Medina.

    The measure is part of efforts to curb the spread of coronavirus.

    The neighbourhoods affected are: Ash-Shuraybat city, Qurban, al-Jumaa, Banidhafar, some areas of al-Iskan, and Bani Khidrah.

    Saudi Arabia’s confirmed cases rose to 3,651 on Friday. Medina has 475 cases.

    The Government said movement will be restricted in the locked down parts of the city.

    All citizens and residents must remain at home throughout the day.
