Authorities in Saudi Arabia have declared June 6 as Sallah Day
This comes after the sighting of the Dhul Hijjah crescent, officially marking the beginning of the 12th and final month in the Islamic calendar

Haramain, a Saudi-based Islamic news platform, announced the development via a post on X, stating that Wednesday would be the first day of Dhul Hijjah.
“The crescent moon has been sighted in Saudi Arabia — Dhul Hijjah 1446 begins tonight,” the post read.
“Day of ‘Arafah: 5 June 2025; Eid Al-Adha: 6 June 2025. May Allāh accept the Hajj of the Hujjaj and our worship and allow us to make the most of these blessed days. Aameen.”
Dhul Hijjah is one of the holiest months in Islam, marked by acts of worship, reflection, and the annual pilgrimage of Hajj. Muslims around the world journey to Makkah during this period, with the 10th day of Dhul Hijjah celebrated as Eid-el-Adha — Islam’s biggest festival.
In Nigeria, Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar, the Sultan of Sokoto and President-General of the Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA), had earlier urged Muslims to look out for the crescent on Tuesday.
