Former presidential aspirant Omoyele Sowore has alleged that popular TikToker Seaking was re-arrested in Lagos on Thursday, February 6, and flown to Abuja due to defamatory comments he made against the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adeboye
In a statement shared on his Facebook page, Sowore revealed that he visited the Federal Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) alongside lawyer Deji Adeyanju, where they were informed that Seaking’s arrest was linked to alleged cyberbullying against Adeboye.
According to Sowore, the FCID received a petition from one Paul James Adama on behalf of Adeboye. He further stated that the arrest was led by DIG Dasuki Galandanchi and that Seaking was taken from Lagos to Abuja by police officers.
Reports indicate that the petition was submitted by a Christian association or group affiliated with Police Public Relations Officer Adejobi Olumuyiwa.
A review of Seaking’s TikTok page showed that in December 2024, he had posted videos verbally attacking Adeboye for wearing a military camouflage during the church’s convention last August and for saying Nigerians should be happy that the dollar had risen to ₦10,000 per dollar.
Sowore described the situation as a sign of the decline of the Nigerian police force and called for Seaking’s immediate release using the hashtags #FreeSeakingNow and #EgbetokunMustGo.
Sowore posted: “We just departed the DIG Dasuki Galandanchi led Federal Investigation Department (FID) of the Nigeria Police Force, where we met Olumide Ogunsanwo aka SEAKING, he was in the company of police officers who had traveled to Lagos to kidnap him. Adeyanju Deji and Marshal D F Abubakar we present as lawyers representing @Seaking and standing for @inibehe Effiong!
To our surprise, they disclosed that Olumide’s recent ordeal resulted from alleged cyberbullying against Pastor E.A. Adeboye, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, in a TikTok session in December of 2024
According to them, one Paul James Adama,Adejobi Olumuyiwaebulous “Christian association or group” affiliated with Police PPRO Adejobi Olumuyiwa submitted a “petition” to their office on behalf of the General Overseer.
Nigerians, I must state that The decline of the police force is indeed disheartening. #freeseakingnow #EgbetokunMustGo”
