Veteran actor Segun Arinze has shared his story of how his acting career came to a halt and why he decided to step away from the spotlight
In a recent interview with media personality Chude Jideonwo, Arinze reflected on his journey as an actor, including his breakout role as Black Arrow in the 1996 film Silent Night, which projected him to fame.
However, Arinze revealed that being stereotyped as a bad boy in movies took a toll on his mental health, leading him to take a break from acting. “I was being cast in the same mold of bad boy, bad boy, and it began to affect my psyche,” he said.
In addition to discussing his acting career, Arinze also opened up about his personal life, including his divorce from actress Anne Njemanze and his decision to stay out of marriage for 12 years before remarrying.
While Arinze may not be as active in acting as he once was, he remains involved in the film industry, exploring his passion for film production and directing.
Throughout his career, he has received numerous awards and recognition for his contributions to the Nigerian entertainment industry.
