In a candid interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Selena Gomez, 32, offered a rare glimpse into her personal life, discussing everything from her relationship with Benny Blanco to her strategies for maintaining privacy in the public eye.
Despite her long-standing career in entertainment, which began with Barney & Friends at age 10 and continued through Disney Channel’s Wizards of Waverly Place, Gomez insists she still maintains a sense of personal space.

“I have my places to go, and no one bothers me at, like, [my half sister] Gracie’s soccer games. No one really bothers me unless I’m in the whole to-do,” she explained.
The Grammy nominee shared her approach to navigating media scrutiny, noting that she purposefully “hang[s] out with people who aren’t really in the business that much.”

She’s even developed creative techniques to avoid unwanted attention, including using a scarf to obscure her face during date nights to prevent paparazzi photographs.
Speaking about her relationship with Benny Blanco, 36, Gomez expressed a newfound comfort in sharing moments of their relationship publicly.
“This is the safest I’ve ever felt in [a relationship], and I see a future with this person,” she said.
She believes that strategically sharing some aspects of their relationship reduces intrusive media speculation.

However, Gomez was quick to emphasize that significant portions of her personal life remain private.
“There’s so much people don’t see” about her relationship, she noted, highlighting the importance of maintaining boundaries despite her public personality.
