The Nigerian Senate has approved the appointment of Muttaqha Rabe Darma as a Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria after his screening session on Thursday
Darma was nominated on Wednesday by President Bola Tinubu to join the Federal Executive Council, filling the vacancy left by former Minister of Housing and Urban Development, Ahmed Musa Dangiwa.

During plenary, Senate President Godswill Akpabio presented the presidential communication to lawmakers and subsequently referred the nomination to the Committee of the Whole for further consideration, with a directive to report back promptly.
Before his ministerial confirmation, Darma served as the Executive Secretary of the Petroleum Technology Development Fund (PTDF).
