Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, Chair of the Senate Committee on Diaspora and NGOs, has confirmed she will resume legislative duties on Tuesday, following a court ruling that overturned her suspension from the Senate

In a video posted on social media, the Kogi Central lawmaker addressed a crowd of jubilant supporters, expressing gratitude for their unwavering support.
“I thank you for your support. I am glad we are victorious today. We shall resume in the Senate on Tuesday by the grace of God,” she said.
Last Friday, the Federal High Court in Abuja declared her six-month suspension unconstitutional, excessive, and a violation of the rights of her constituents. The court ordered her immediate reinstatement.
However, Justice Binta Nyako also imposed a ₦5 million fine on Akpoti-Uduaghan for contempt of court, citing a satirical Facebook post in which she mocked Senate President Godswill Akpabio. The post was found to have breached an interim injunction issued on March 4, 2025, which barred all parties from commenting publicly or on social media about the case.
Akpoti-Uduaghan was suspended in March after a heated exchange during a Senate plenary.
