Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan has boldly challenged Senate President Godswill Akpabio to press charges after accusing him of plotting both her recall from the Senate and her ass#ssination
Speaking on Channels TV’s Politics Today Thursday night, the Kogi Central lawmaker said she welcomed the threat of legal action, insisting her claims were true.
“I’m hearing the Senate President wants to sue me. I say go ahead—we’ll meet and cross that bridge,” she said.
The senator had first made the explosive allegations during a rally in Ihima, claiming Akpabio contacted Kogi Governor Usman Ododo to initiate a recall against her. When Ododo declined, citing her popularity, she alleged that Akpabio turned to former Governor Yahaya Bello.
“Akpabio asked Bello to handle both the recall and my killing,” she alleged. “He told him the killing shouldn’t happen in Abuja, but here in Kogi—so it would look like the people did it.”
She said Senator Asuquo was the one who drove Bello to a meeting with Akpabio at the Hilton Hotel, where money allegedly exchanged hands.
When asked for proof during the TV interview, she cited the recent attempted recall campaign as partial evidence: “If you doubt the murder plot, what about the recall process we all just witnessed?”
Neither Akpabio nor his aides have publicly responded to the allegations, though sources say legal action may be under consideration.
Security agencies have yet to issue any statement on the alleged threat or confirm whether an investigation has begun.
