Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan (Kogi Central) has completed her six-month suspension, which was imposed by the Senate on March 6, 2025, and is now set to return to plenary
During the suspension, she was barred from legislative duties, denied access to the National Assembly complex, and cut off from official resources, after being accused of breaching Senate rules.

Akpoti-Uduaghan consistently rejected the sanction, describing it as politically motivated and linked to her petition accusing Senate President Godswill Akpabio of sexual harassment.
Her suspension ignited weeks of tension within the legislature, reaching a peak in July when she arrived at the National Assembly with her lawyers, wielding a court judgment she claimed ordered her immediate reinstatement.
With the sanction now over, focus has turned to how her return will unfold, particularly amid unresolved tensions with the Senate leadership.
