Sexual assault Lawsuit against Jay-Z and Diddy dismissed

The civil lawsuit accusing hip-hop moguls Shawn “Jay-Z” Carter and Sean “Diddy” Combs of sexually assaulting a 13-year-old girl in 2000 has been voluntarily dismissed by the accuser

Filed in a Manhattan federal court, the case was dismissed “with prejudice,” meaning it cannot be refiled. The lawsuit, initially brought in December 2024, alleged that Jay-Z and Combs assaulted the accuser at an afterparty following the 2000 MTV Video Music Awards.

Jay-Z welcomed the case’s dismissal, calling the allegations “frivolous, fictitious, and appalling.” He also expressed relief, stating, “Today is a victory. The baseless accusations have been dismissed, but the damage to my family’s peace of mind has been immense.”

Diddy, who is facing multiple other legal challenges, has continued to deny any wrongdoing. His legal team reiterated that he has “never sexually assaulted or trafficked anyone” and expressed confidence that other pending cases would also be dismissed due to lack of evidence.

The accuser’s attorney, Tony Buzbee, declined to comment on the reasons behind the dismissal. Reports indicate that no settlement was reached between the parties.

While this lawsuit has been closed, Combs remains entangled in other civil and criminal cases, including allegations of racketeering and sex trafficking, to which he has pleaded not guilty.
