American rapper Sexyy Red is facing a lawsuit for allegedly urging her online followers to attack Nicole Barnes, the paternal grandmother of one of her children

According to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, the lawsuit, filed on Monday, claims that the 26-year-old rapper, born Janae Wherry, shared Barnes’ address and a photo of her home on Facebook in December 2024. She then allegedly encouraged social media users to “kick in the door” and commit acts of violence against Barnes.
Barnes’ attorney, Steven Weaver, stated, “Sexyy Red and her baby daddy are getting into beef, for whatever reason, that has nothing to do with my client. We tried to resolve it informally, but her attorneys thought it was a joke. Now they’re finding out it’s not.”
Barnes reported the incident to the police and claims she was forced to relocate from Hazelwood, Missouri, due to safety concerns. She also alleges she has been struggling to find a new home at a comparable price and is undergoing therapy for emotional distress.
In her lawsuit, Barnes is seeking $5 million in damages.
Sexyy Red, known for hits like “SkeeYee” and “U My Everything,” has two children—a son born in 2020 and a daughter born in February 2024. However, details about the fathers of her children remain scarce.
